Madeleine’s Cake Boutique in East Sheen, southwest London,
was opened in 2014 by Lisa Martini, an experienced Le Cordon Bleu trained patisserie chef with a passion for creating beautiful cakes that taste incredible.
Lisa grew up with a love of baking; her mother baked, her father made confectionary, and her Grandfather was a baker and cake decorator. For years it was just a hobby and it was only when her boys had grown up that Lisa decided to leave her job as an operating theatre sister in Australia and move to London to pursue her passion for baking.
Lisa enrolled at the world famous Le Cordon Bleu culinary school to study the art of patisserie, obtaining a Diplome de Patisserie, mastering in French Patisserie, which included boulangerie, chocolate, plated desserts, sugar work, and afternoon tea.
Lisa was awarded the highest score ever given at the London school.
After working as a pastry chef in some of London's finest establishments, Lisa went on to do a Masters in Sugar Craft.
She also gained valuable experience training with world-class cake designers.
Lisa went on to teach baking and cake decorating, sharing her passion and years of experience with students from around the world. She has made wedding cakes for celebrities, catered for many corporate events and even had a Christmas Cake feature on the front of Morrsion’s magazine and a wedding cake featured on ITV’s This Morning.
Finally, the dream of owning her own Cake Boutique, a relaxing and welcoming place where you can savour some of the delicious recipes she prides herself on, has come true. Lisa is always happy to chat to customers and offer baking tips so please feel free to drop by and say hello.
